You hold the wand above the picture of the love-ees choice and a recorded message is played for that picture. The four family members in the pictures give their loving greetings.
A magnet was mounted in the wand that triggered magnetic sensors behind the pictures.
The four people in the pictures recorded their "love" greetings into EEPROM storage in the unit which is played back as the magnet is sensed.
