Horse Final Leg (Study 05)
Made of Plexiglas and steel construction. This time added a spring system to control the adduction.
This cut the cable count in half compared to the previous study 04.

I devised different control configurations. Below was an early "piano key" arrangement.
The ultimate goal was to control all the movements in concert.
|
The final control method was with air cylinders on a set of parallel air timers.
It moved quite well. Finally, I was happy with the movement.
All this was for one horse leg to move in only one gait: the canter.
Someone needed to stop me on this project. I was getting kind of compulsive about it.
At that point I stopped trying to do the entire horse. I did get a deeper appreciation of God's handiwork though.
